My name is Danny Burde and I fell in love with fitness in 1996, when I needed to gain weight for my high school football team. My older brother’s best friend, Sal Di Stefano, took me under his wing and showed me how to squat, deadlift, and bench press. I grew fast and fell in love with strength and conditioning.
I read everything I could on exercise, nutrition, and health. I also experimented with everything under the sun, since I was not a naturally gifted athlete and needed all the help I could get. My love for exercise continued throughout college, where I played football at San Jose State University as a running back. I double majored in Psychology and Kinesiology, with an emphasis in teaching.
I enlisted in the police academy in 2006, where I was introduced to CrossFit by one of our instructors. He challenged the class to do the workout called “Cindy”, which involves 20 minutes of pull ups, push ups, and air squats. I felt the positive effects of that style of exercise immediately and have been following CrossFit workouts ever since. I am currently the Head Coach at NC Fit in Redwood City, California.
Over the years I have developed a vast knowledge base of physical, emotional, and psychological health and fitness. This knowledge has come through experience, training, and experimentation. I hope you enjoy all of the information I have to share! Let me know what you think in the comments below and please share this with all of your friends!
