Getting outside of your comfort zone requires you to do one thing… grow physically, psychologically, and emotionally.
When you decide to intentionally place yourself in a position that will put you far outside of your comfort zone, you are committing to self growth. This self growth can come in so many ways. You toughen your mind, emotions, body, and spirit. You become a better person, more resilient, and flat out tougher.
When people talk about the benefits of physical fitness, they often talk about these things. The most successful people in the world usually have some sort of physical exercise routine that keeps them physically sharp, because they know that will carry over into other areas of their life.
I am currently training for a sub 5 minute mile, which is very aggressive for me and I know will be a very challenging feat. I’ve never run that fast before and I am almost 40. This will require me to dig deep and commit 100%.
This takes a certain type of mental tenacity that will require me to grow as person, not just an athlete. I look forward to the progress and seeing all of the growth that comes along with it.
I discuss this in more detail in the video below.
I discuss coping tactics for life, stress, anxiety, and depression in every episode of the podcast. I hope you enjoy!
